In a video address at the "India Steel 2025" event, Modi emphasized that the steel industry needs to unite to build a "resilient, revolutionary, and steel-strong India." He also urged industry participants to strengthen global cooperation and ensure supply chain security, pointing out that raw materials are a challenge for the industry, and India still relies on imports. The country also needs to explore alternatives such as coal gasification and better utilization of its coal reserves to reduce coal imports.

Overall inventory was still expected to remain in a destocking trend. Attention should be paid to tomorrow's SMM weekly HRC balance. In the short term, HRC prices were still expected to fluctuate with costs, with limited momentum for further gains.
